A Good Day for a Walk

It was such a nice day we decided to take a walk to the lighthouse. The walk was much easier with the paved and level path. We used to have to climb over rocks that the waves would splash up and over. It dropped to a good fall. Now if you go over the rocks, it's lots of smooth, level sand from beyond the pier to the harbor.

We stopped for a break along the old dirt path. those dots in the sky on the left are flags.

At the end of the path is the entrance to the harbor with the Channel Islands in the background and on the port side is the lighthouse.

A neighbor brought over some of her excess oranges and tangerines. Yummy!

Photo Album time

Kailyn and her folks stopped by last night on their way home from Great Grandma Steele's house. She wanted some "Grandpa Time". With some help from her dad I was able to check the fit of the pants. She prefers her big, bright floral pants.

The pants fit

Kailyn tried on the pants and they seem to be more big than too tight. At least I was able to use up some of that fabric I've had in my stash for years.

Fleece quilt for Kalissa

This is a quilt made of 2 layers of fleece that I made for Kalissa. The quilting design is called "Tickle My Heart" by Munchie Designs. It's on my B-Line frame with my PC Quilter (robotic) and Max Throat. It's very warm.
I also finished those pants using my sewing machine and just overcasting with the serger. I won't know if they fit till I can try them on Kailyn.

Picture from the past

Mother gave me some old photos. This is hard to see. Taken about 62 years ago!

This is the Easter Bunny wall hanging that I made. It is all out of Log Cabin blocks except for the appliqed eggs.

Do you feel Spring like now?

Some outside pictures of the back. If you look at the sky you can see the fog. Can you see the dog trail from Lady -- goes right over the flower.

Okay, I decided you need to see The Serger. Can you see how narrow the area is with the needles?

Can you tell how much light I'm adding. I've opened the blinds, put on reading glasses that I don't use much, and turned on every light!

March 20 1st Post

This will be my first attempt at a post on my new Blog. I'm hoping this will be an easy way to share pictures and messages with friends and family.

I've been trying to work with my serger today. That's something I haven't touched in long time and I'd forgotten how hard it is to thread those tiny needles. (It's an old serger than I've had for more than 20 years so............) I did manage to get it to work really well. Went around some pockets on some pants I was sewing up for Kailyn my 2 1/2 Yr old granddaughter. After I finished I discovered I'd cut the whole corner with the knife blade. Now for a cup of coffee to relax. I think I'll sew a new seam later and then they'll fit Kalissa, the other 2 1/2 Yr old granddaughter since she has thinner legs.

First day of Spring. It's been sunny all week but today we have that beach fog.
