Mystery Quilt

These are the 3 fabrics I've choosen for Kristina's Mystery quilt. The yellow is the focus fabric, the blue with purple dots is the contrast, and the rusy orange is the background. The 1st steps are on on her Froggy bottom quilting site. This is the 1st time I've done something like this. It should finish at about 80 inches by 80 inches. The colors are brighter than they show under the florescent light.

Fall at the Beach

Getting in the moodNew this year, check out the pumpkin names
Looking towards the family room. See the ghost?

Have to have some Jack O Lanterns

I've always loved Indian Corn. If you popped dried corn would it be different colors?

Outside, the flowers are fading

And the leaves are falling. Those aren't red leaves in the background. The tree has a sort of bottlebrushflowers that drop off and leave really hard, open pods.

The play yard gets covered from the leaves in the front.

These berries in the tree get dark and drop all over the place and the driveway. Lots of them have already dropped and there are many more to come. If you don't want to step on them, you need to sweep at least 3 times a day. By some time next month it'll be over and the tree will just look good again.

Pier Walking

The Brown Pelicans were out looking (dirty lens)Really nice and warm

Some sort of barge coming into port

Water was clear and about 58

A cargo boat is coming in (prob bananas)

Kailyn at the far end of the pier. She'd climb to the top if I wasn't holding on.

A race on the sand back to the pavement. Lucky for Bill he got back in shape or he'd never have had a chance.

Grammie is 86 today

We all got together over here yesterday for to celebrate early. (Karen & Bob with Kalissa, Kathy & Stuart with Kailyn & Katie) The Steeles joined us by phone -- don't have their web cam working yet. It was one of our rare sunny days this Summer.

The girls were chefs. Katie cooked up some dominos and Kailyn & Kalissa used sand as their main ingredient. I made spaghetti with chicken breasts, green salad, & a fresh fruit bowl. Bill went to Rustys for pizza for an extra treat. (bar-b-qued chicken with cashews) Bob's dad sent over an apple pie he'd made from apples in his back yard and we bought chocolate and white cupcakes at Sam's Club. It was like everyone made part of the meal.
